4 Back to School Staple Pieces
Posted on July 19 2020
If you are a young lady or woman growing up, the pressure to have the cutest outfit for the first day back can be a bit stressful. I remember having my outfit planned and laid out since the third grade, I thought the idea of starting the school year off with a fabulous outfit can feel inspiring. The hard part about picking out an outfit can be what seems casual, yet put together. I am here to give you some ideas of what that should look like and not leave you feeling stressed out the night before.
Let's start with the basics!
You can never go wrong with a graphic tee or a striped tee. Whether you are repping your favorite football team, KC themed shirts, or a cute phrase like our "peachy" tee--this helps bring your outfit a little pop. Personally, I like staying with neutral and shades of blue graphic tees. They are easy to style whether under a slouchy cardigan, a raincoat, or a jean jacket. Having a graphic tee in your closet is the easiest thing to wear when you are running late to class, feeling a little lazy with wanting to look cute--but also look put together, and you can dress them up with a skirt or down with jeans.
Bring on the blouses!
Personally, I lean towards versatile blouses that do not have too much prints or abstracts, so I can layer them throughout the fall. I think blouses can bring your outfit together, even if you only have ten minutes to get ready. Our sage ruffled blouse is perfect to wear by itself, under a white denim jacket, or a oversized neutral cardigan this fall. The color isn't too bright and can be worn with darker colors or lighter colors of your choosing.
Casual and Chic
Who doesn't own a cute romper? The best thing about rompers comes from the idea of looking chic and comfy at the same time. I would definitely wear a romper to class with sandals, leather boots, or some fun sneakers. The best thing about our black ruffled romper, it can be worn with a colorful cardigan or a light wash denim jacket. Take it from day to night, by wearing sneakers in the AM and espadrilles in the PM. This is a great transitional piece for this upcoming season.
A-line for the A+ Gal
Dress to impress is the motto for every woman. Whether your style is edgy or bohemian, everyone feels good in a dress. I think the easiest dresses to wear all year long are A-line (t-shirt) style dresses. I have over six dresses that I can wear spring through winter. The best thing about our Sunfire striped dress, the color really compliments all skin tones. You can add hues of blue or white for jewelry, add a mustard espadrille for shoes, and transition it into fall by wearing a burnt orange cardigan over it. There are no rules to the endless ways to mix and match this piece.
I hope you found this weeks blog inspirational. Share, like, and comment below which piece you think you'll be wearing on campus or via your Zoom call.
